Grace receives patent notice of allowance for flash chromatography technology
WR Grace & Co has received a Notice of Allowance from the US Patent and Trademark Office for a patent application related to its Reveleris flash chromatography system. The notice refers to the use of Evaporative Light Scattering Detection (ELSD) with flash chromatography (Publication No. US 2010/0238444 A1). The allowed claims cover Grace’s RevealX dual detection technology, a key part of the Reveleris flash chromatography system.
“This US Patent Allowance is an important milestone for Grace, confirming our technological leadership in the field of flash chromatography,” said Gregory Poling, President and Chief Operating Officer. “Our technology has radically advanced the capabilities of flash chromatography within a short time span, resulting in improved yields and significant gains in productivity for our customers.”
RevealX technology provides many benefits to customers. Multiple ultraviolet signals, as well as ELSD, can be processed simultaneously, ensuring that even hard to detect compounds are identified. An advanced algorithm ensures the collection of highly pure fractions, delivering good first pass yields.
