Thermo Electron has introduced its multi-elemental benchtop SphiNCX analyser for analysis of total sulfur, total nitrogen, total organic carbon and total organic halogens.

The four-in-one configuration of the analyser is for research and development laboratories, environmental laboratories and QC laboratories in the petrochemical, plastics and high-grade chemical industries.

The device offers high and low measuring ranges in a wide variety of sample types, and is suitable for controlling ultra low levels of sulfur preventing contamination in fuel cells. The analyser can control industrial processes by offering the best detection capabilities for sulfur and nitrogen analysis in refineries.

The instrument is suitable for quality control of groundwater, wastewater, sludge and drinking water and monitoring nitrogen, carbon and halogens.

It incorporates, and is compatible with, the multi-functional NeXYZ auto sampler, claimed to be the first of its kind for solids, small volume hydrocarbons, large volume water samples and headspace analysis.

Its exchangeable sample tray and pick-up heads ensure flexible, fast and easy sample introduction.

The flexible design makes it easy to switch rapidly between nitrogen, sulfur, chlorine and carbon analyses.
