Box and cardboard compression tester

Monday, 10 September, 2007 | Supplied by: IDM Instruments

IDM Instruments has designed and manufactured a box compression tester that evaluates packages and material under compressive loads.

Manufactured with relevance to recognised international test standards, the box compression tester is supplied with the two platens measuring 1000 x 800 x 25 mm. The top platen can be fixed or floated, and the base platen is fixed.

The software used with the tester is the Universal Test Software designed by IDM Instruments. The software program allows all test parameters to be set by the operator and test scripts to be written to suit user requirements and/or test standard procedures. Other features include real-time graphic display of the data, which can be read in Excel and printed for further analysis.

The tester specifications include a maximum capacity of 50 kN, force accuracy of ±1% FS and position repeatability of 0.2 mm. It is operated using a servo electric motor and has a variable test speed of 0.1-250 mm/min, with a speed accuracy of 0.5% FS.

The instrument is user friendly with its step-by-step software operating program, allowing for easy set-up of tests to ensure quick and precise testing.
