Chemisorption analyser

Monday, 06 April, 2009 | Supplied by: Particle & Surface Sciences Pty Ltd

The Micromeritics AutoChem 2920 automated catalyst characterisation system is a fully automated chemisorption analyser that enables a wide array of studies of chemical adsorption and temperature-programmed reactions. It can acquire information about the physical properties of the catalyst, catalyst support or other materials, and can determine catalytic properties such as percentage of metal dispersion, active metal surface area, acid strength, surface acidity, distribution of strength of active sites, BET surface area and more.

The system automatically performs: pulse chemisorption; temperature-programmed reduction; desorption and oxidation; and reaction analyses.

Features include: Windows operating and data reduction software; three gas ports (prep, carrier and analysis) with four inlets, allowing four-gas sequential experiments; four independently calibrated mass flow controllers, providing accurate, programmable gas control; the CryoCooler option, which can allow analysis temperatures over the range of -70 to 1100 °C; and graphic reports for BET surface area, pulse chemisorption, heat of adsorption and others.

In addition, it has an integrated Grams/32 peak editor package, which provides peak selection and editing, integration, data smoothing, rescaling and overlay capability.
