Dionex MAb Characterization Platform

The Dionex Monoclonal Antibody (MAb) Characterization Platform has been built on the Dionex UltiMate 3000 HPLC system.

With an increasing demand for newer and better MAb candidates, there is a bottleneck in the MAb characterisation process which is addressed by the Dionex MAb platform. The platform automates the three manual steps required in the screening and analysis of MAbs and thus speeds up product development by increasing sample throughput.

The fully biocompatible platform features a dual ternary gradient pump design and an integrated fraction collector with the ability to automatically reinject samples into the second dimension. Applications that could benefit from these features include automation of purification and analysis of hundreds of MAb samples. The offline column regeneration feature in tandem configuration allows the analysis of over 1000 MAb samples a day while the dual-column option in parallel configuration allows multiple analyses to be performed on the same sample simultaneously.

New columns for this platform include: MabPac SCX-10 cation-exchange columns for the high resolution and characterisation of MAb variants plus new three extra column formats: 4 × 150 mm for fast MAb separations; 4 × 50 mm column for pH gradients; and 2 × 150 mm for upstream separations in LC/MS applications.

The MAbPac SEC-1 size exclusion chromatography columns are suitable for the separation and analysis of MAbs, their aggregates and fragments.
