The increased efficiency of the Fused-Core particle in the Ascentis Express HPLC columns enables users to use shorter columns and reduce acetonitrile use by up to 70%.
Based on the Fused-Core particle technology, Ascentis Express provides the high speed and high efficiency of sub-2 µm particles, but at approximately half the backpressure for the same length. This lower pressure means that Ascentis Express can be run on conventional HPLC and LC-MS systems, as well as mid-pressure, UPLC TM and other ultra-high pressure systems.
The Ascentis Express column is Ultra-pure, Type B silica, 1.7 µm solid core particle with 0.5 µm porous silica shell (effective 2.7 µm), 150 m2/g surface area (comparable to ~225 m2/g (porous particle) and 90 Å pore size.
The columns are available in C18, C8, HILIC and RP-Amide phases and various capillary and analytical sizes.
