Macherey-Nagel has released the PF-12 photometer, an alternative to the more technically advanced 500 D, already used in many laboratories worldwide.
Compact and light, the PF-12 works using different power sources, including mains, USB connection and a 12 V car adapter, making the instrument suitable for use in both the laboratory or in the field.
Test results are stored and managed in a way that conforms to GLP requirements. Specialised software that is used to export these results comes free with each instrument. The instrument is virtually future-proof, as upgrades are also supplied at no charge.
The PF-12 is easy to use, with no special training required. The user interface, with preprogrammed test, automatic wavelength adjustment, is easy to follow. The graphic display is large and can be read in sunlight.
The device uses advanced optics, which are insensitive to external light and help make testing straightforward. It is programmed to perform more than 100 tests, including COD, total-N, total-P, ammonium and all the other usual wastewater parameters. Users can also program the instrument to perform 10 methods of their own.
The photometers come in a carry case complete with software, batteries, test tubes, funnels, beakers, syringes, USB cables and calibration cuvettes, as standard.
Custom kits can also be produced to users’ specifications by request.
