Oxidative reaction analysis

ACL Instruments’ range of chemiluminescence analysis systems has been designed for the study of oxidative effects in aging, stability and high-precision calculation of shelf life.

The system allows for the use of minimal amounts of sample (0.1 mg)with high sensitivity, and the results are unaltered by side reactions.

The application potential of chemiluminescence is broad — this method is particularly suitable to characterise oxidative reactions, thermal decay, stability, efficiency assessment of stabilisers (qualitative and quantitative), determination of activation parameters and the prognosis of life expectancy, cross linking etc. The high sensitivity of the method allows examining oxidation reactions at moderate temperatures. This decreases the probability to observe secondary phase transition (softening, melting, changes in modification etc) that commonly distort results obtained by conventional thermo-analytical methods.

The equipment design is based on a modular construction concept. Central is a basic instrument configuration, allowing the actual chemiluminescence-based analysis. Additional needs of users can easily be addressed by upgrading anytime with optional hardware modules including a humidifier, spectrometer and photo-oxidation unit.

The chemiluminescence technology can be used to analyse, score or predict oxidative and anti-oxidative effects, freshness or aging characteristics of technical goods, food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics etc. It allows the characterisation necessary for prognosis of stability, quality and safety, and finds applications in R&D, quality assurance and academia.

By combining the system with Advanced Kinetics (AKTS), it is possible to have comprehensive lifetime predictions and decomposition predictions in any thermal environment, controlled or ambient.
