The Velp Scientifica NDA 701 Dumas nitrogen analyser uses advanced technology to optimise productivity in the food and feed industries.

The unit features high detection limits and readability and an RSD lower than 0.5% for EDTA so users can be assured of accurate and precise results. Samples can be loaded in the 116-position autosampler using the same loading procedure whether solid, paste or liquid samples. Once loaded the unit is fully automated.

The DumaSoft software displays the program parameters, run conditions and results on the user’s PC (not included) making the system quick and easy to operate. Contextual help is available. Traffic-light colour coding of all parameters makes for visual analysis at a glance. Different calibration curves can be created and managed, also an on-board database containing methods for numerous sample types and different nitrogen standards can be used to optimise output to PC or LIMS for analysis using the preferred software. Formats include .xls, .txt or .csv.

The nitrogen analyser produces results in as little as 3-4 min per sample. Sample preparation and handling is quick and easy using the analyser’s encapsulator device and interfacing with an electronic balance eliminates data transfer errors. Simply click on start and the unit runs unattended until all samples have been analysed.

The CO₂ absorbent is automatically regenerated and automatic leak testing by zone saves on correction time. The DriStep cooling device removes 99% of water vapour, reducing replacement frequency of the copper agent and running costs. With planned service alerts, stand-by and wake-up functions, the unit offers accuracy, reliability and simplicity of use.

Developed to carry out nitrogen analysis by the Dumas method which detects all elemental nitrogen (unlike Kjeldahl) the NDA 701 complies with all established methods in accordance to national and international standards. Including all standards in the food and feed markets - AOAC, AACC, ASBC, OIV and ISO - making it suitable for industrial and monitoring laboratories.
