Axios is a range of PANalytical WDXRF (wavelength dispersive x-ray fluorescence) spectrometers with applications and capabilities tailored to meet the needs of specific industries including manufacturing, mining, research, geology and environmental technology. Axios is robust - built to work in unforgiving, on-site industrial conditions so analytical performance is unaffected by heat and dust.

Axios meets the growing need for industry to act in accordance with regulations such as WEEE and ROHS. Axios systems comply with all relevant international norms and standards.

The SST-mAX x-ray tube achieves extra performance and an extended operating range. The mAX technology guarantees stable tube output all the way up to 160 mA, improving analytical performance in the light element range. Axios also incorporates innovations in multi-layer technology for analysing crystals. The result is a performance boost in which sensitivity can be doubled for elements such as boron.

Other Axios innovations that make fast, standardless analysis easy include sophisticated counting electronics, an accurate goniometer, and high sensitivity.

Axios is ergonomically designed to be highly accessible. It also features reduced noise levels. Sample handling is advanced, with an integrated sample changer and a choice of loading mechanics. Axios systems can be incorporated easily into fully automated laboratory systems.

All Axios systems run on version 4.0 of SuperQ software, which is easy to use, with an intuitive interface and menu structure. It gives functions such as the combination of QuickStart measurements and Automatic Program Selection. Operator privilege settings can be configured to control access to application parameters. Most day-to-day operation is a push-button exercise that can be carried out by inexperienced personnel after a minimum of instruction.

Version 4.0 incorporates a user interface for sample handling, multiple languages, refinements in trace analysis and compatibility with FDA reporting requirements.

SuperQ is a modular design with multiple program options for specific industries and analysis needs. All modules deliver high levels of performance for specialised analysis or procedures. Modules include: IQ+ for standardless analysis; Pro-Trace for sub-ppm analysis; FP-Multi for advanced layer analysis; SPC for statistical analysis; UAI for total integration; XRD/TWIN and Supervisor for dual analysis and Type Standardisation for the steel industry.
