Australian patent search system revamped

Wednesday, 12 November, 2014

AusPat, IP Australia’s search system for Australian patents, has been revamped. The new design has taken over a year of planning, designing and testing, with changes based on user research and customer engagement.

Some of the system’s new features include:

  • simplified access to the search interfaces, including consistent search buttons across all pages
  • a quick search located on the new landing page
  • a designed subscriptions interface and email alerts messages
  • a dedicated learning page
  • a refreshed look and feel to the results pages and application details pages

IP Australia has released two instructional videos for the new system, which are accessible via YouTube.

This redesign has also included a refresh of AusPat Subscribe, the service that provides users with email notifications on applications of interest. The website will soon be updated with a user guide for AusPat Subscribe.

AusPat Subscribe can be accessed through the ‘Register Now. Subscribe to Notifications’ icon on the AusPat landing page or through the subscribe link at the bottom of each AusPat page.
