Abnova Camelid Single Domain Antibody Service
A camelid single-domain antibody (sdAb), also known as a VHH or nanobody, is the recombinant variable domain derived from a camelid heavy-chain-only antibody. This configuration confers a number of properties. The small size and high stability of an sdAb make it a promising tool for disease diagnosis and treatment. It can penetrate tissue easily; it can target difficult epitopes hidden in protein structure; it expresses well in many host systems; and it is cost-effective to manufacture on a large scale.
Abnova offers a Camelid Single Domain Antibody Service for the production of target-specific sdAbs from a naïve camelid VHH library. By using an advanced naïve camelid VHH library screening technology, Abnova screens the library and isolates the sdAb clones for the user’s required antigens. Positive clones are sequenced and validated by ELISA. The selected clones will then be introduced into an HEK293 expression vector or E. coli expression vector for transient and scalable sdAb production for many downstream applications.
