Environics Series 3000 gas delivery/blending system

Wednesday, 20 January, 2010 | Supplied by: Lear Siegler Australasia Pty Ltd

The Environics Series 3000 gas delivery/blending system allows on-site gas blending of 100% pure bulk gases.

Unlike premixed cylinders, the system provides a repeatable blend of gases using precision thermal mass flow controllers and although two and three gas mixtures are more common, gas mixtures of more constituents can be produced.

A human machine interface, colour touch screen and PLC are the main controls and a series of I/O modules connect to all the electromechanical devices. Options such as ethernet connection, remote operation, alarms, gas humidifier and oxygen-compatible construction are available.

Precision mass flow controllers, calibrated at 11 points on a primary flow standard traceable to NIST, are used to control the flow rate of each gas for blending. The flow standard is claimed to be accurate to 0.2% of reading. Using the 11 points of calibration data, its software applies linear interpolation to provide an accurate and linear flow rate.

Optional precision mass flow meters, also calibrated at 11 points with linear interpolation applied, can be installed on the outputs of the MFCs. The meters monitor the flow rate of each flow controller and the PLC calculates the actual blend concentration based on the metered flows.

Supplied in a NEMA 4 wall-mount enclosure with internal electrically ground aluminium panels and clear polycarbonate door, optional enclosures are also available. Fitting connections and tubing are 316 stainless steel.
