Ferroptosis is a recently discovered form of regulated cell death that is characterised by the accumulation of lipid peroxides and iron-dependent reactive oxygen species (ROS) in cells. Proteins involved in ferroptosis include glutathione-dependent lipid peroxidase (GPX4), the iron transporter transferrin and the cystine/glutamate antiporter system xc-. Inhibition of any of these proteins leads to the accumulation of lipid peroxides, and the eventual triggering of ferroptosis.

ProSci Incorporated’s range of ferroptosis antibodies includes AIFM2, NCOA4, PEX3, PEX10, FLT3, LPCAT3, GPX4, SLC7A11 and ferritin. The antibodies are distributed in Australia and New Zealand by Sapphire Bioscience.
