Tuesday, 15 March, 2016

Australian researchers, science leaders and science journalists are invited to enter the 2016 Australian Museum Eureka Prizes. Presented annually by the Australian Museum, the awards comprise 16 prizes across four categories: research and innovation, leadership, science communication and school science.

2016 sees the introduction of two new prizes. The Johnson & Johnson Eureka Prize for Innovation in Medical Research will be awarded to an individual or team for innovation in medical research that is changing and improving people’s lives. The Department of Industry, Innovation and Science Eureka Prize for Innovation in Citizen Science will meanwhile be awarded to an individual or team for demonstrated excellence in citizen science practice through an innovative research and community engagement project.

Entries can be submitted at https://eureka-entry.australianmuseum.net.au/ up until 6 May 2016 at 7 pm AEST. Finalists will be announced on 29 July and the winners will be revealed at the gala award dinner on 31 August.

Last year’s award winners can be viewed on the Lab Online website.
