Thursday, 11 February, 2016

Particle & Surface Sciences has been appointed the exclusive distributor for Surface Measurement Systems in Australia and New Zealand.

Based in the UK, Surface Measurement Systems develops and engineers innovative experimental techniques and instrumentation for physico-chemical characterisation of solid-state materials. The company describes itself as a leader in dynamic vapour sorption technology and inverse gas chromatography instrumentation.

Some of Surface Measurement Systems’ products include:

  • the Inverse Gas Chromatography-Surface Energy Analyzer (iGC-SEA), which is designed to determine surface energy heterogeneity but is also suitable for measuring different surface and bulk properties of solid materials;
  • the Dynamic Vapor Sorption (DVS) Vacuum, which can offer measurements on vapour pressure and heat of evaporation of solids, low-pressure vapour/gas sorption and vacuum drying; and
  • the Vapor Pressure Analyzer (VPA), which measures the vapour pressures of solids, liquids and oils using the Knudsen effusion method.

The products are suitable for a variety of industry sectors, including agrichemicals, bio and natural materials, building materials, catalysts, fibres and fillers, food and fine chemicals, nano and porous materials, pharmaceuticals, polymers and packaging.
