Strategic alliance: Millennium Science and Jomar Life Research

Millennium Science, a supplier of biomedical research instrumentation, and Jomar Life Research, a supplier of life science kits and reagents, will form a strategic alliance under common ownership to provide Australian and New Zealand researchers with improved access to research technologies and supplies.

Leading Technology Group, the parent company of Jomar Life Research, will take a majority interest in Millennium Science. Dr Alexander Szabo, CEO of Jomar, will also become CEO of Millennium. Bren Collinson, Managing Director of Millennium, will meanwhile take up the position of Executive Director and Senior Advisor. All Millennium and Jomar staff will continue in their current positions.

The two companies will work closely together to offer researchers throughout Australia and New Zealand access to an extensive range of innovative technologies for life science research. Jointly the two companies represent more than 100 life science product manufacturers, including 10X Genomics, PacBio, BioTek, CyTek, Roche, InvivoGen, Biotium, Sino Biological and Thermo Fisher among others.

“We are excited to combine forces to offer Australian and New Zealand life science researchers an extraordinary range of the most innovative and powerful tools to accelerate their work,” Dr Szabo said. “By joining two of Australia and New Zealand’s most respected distributors, we will provide our customers with expanded service and technical support capabilities and even greater value for money for their purchases.”

“This is a great opportunity for Millennium to continue to prosper and serve an even broader range of scientists,” Collinson added. “Importantly, I believe that this broader entity will offer our extraordinary staff, who are the backbone of both companies, even greater opportunity for career success and personal growth. For me, this is the right time to hand the baton over to others while continuing to have the opportunity for involvement at board and advisory level.”
