WITec Raman microscope wins innovation award
Microscope manufacturer WITec’s Raman imaging system, apyron, was awarded first prize at the Achema 2015 Innovation Awards in the category of Laboratory and Analytical Technologies.
Presented at the Achema trade show for the chemical engineering and process industry, the Innovation Awards were bestowed for the seventh time by the renowned industry experts and technical editors of various publications. This year, some 100 companies applied to be considered for the awards for the most innovative devices, systems and processes featured at the exhibition.
The fully automated apyron microscope was chosen as the top innovation from among 18 applicants in its category. Its configurable architecture has led to the steps from experimental conceptualisation to novel data acquisition becoming automated, consolidated and software-controlled.
“Winning the Achema 2015 Innovation Award is another welcome recognition of WITec’s enormous innovative strength,” said WITec Managing Director Dr Joachim Koenen.
