World's first forensics YouTube channel launched
The world’s first forensics YouTube channel will be launched by the Attorney General at the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine.
The Hon Robert Clark MP will join John Coldrey QC, Chair of the VIFM Council, and other members of the legal and medical fraternity when they launch the institute into the future.
The VIFM’s new website features a YouTube Channel that will showcase the work of Australia’s most sophisticated forensic medical facility.
Deputy Director Associate Professor David Ranson is excited that the institute will lead the way in forensic communication.
“As a healthcare organisation, the VIFM believes it is essential that our patients and our families are fully informed about what we do and why our work helps maintain the health and safety of our community,” he said.
“Increasingly, our patients and our families are turning to the internet for the information they need and the VIFM needs to have a strong presence in this communication medium - one that is comprehensive, meaningful and accessible.
“Videos play an important part in our communication strategy and it is important that our material stands out from other internet sources as being both friendly and personally accessible as well as being of the highest quality,” Associate Professor Ranson said.
