BioSA Tech Hub opens this week

Monday, 29 September, 2014

BioSA, an initiative established by the South Australian Government, is this week opening its Tech Hub - a business incubator designed to facilitate collaborations, knowledge transfer and support for technology companies.

BioSA was created to foster the growth of the South Australian bioscience industry, providing infrastructure, business advice and expertise, financial assistance, and marketing and communication services. Tech Hub - the organisation’s second bioscience incubator - is a 3350 m2 purpose-built facility for high-tech business.

Tech Hub offers shared space for small to medium-sized high-tech companies to access modern laboratory and production equipment through its range of flexible spaces including offices, laboratories, GMP cleanrooms and goods inwards/outwards rooms. Such spaces would normally be beyond the tenants’ financial capacities; thus, it allows them to direct their finances to accelerating their products and services to market.

Tech Hub currently houses GeneWorksCPR Pharma, Ellex Precise and Austofix. It is located within the Thebarton Technology Precinct in close proximity to similar companies and networks, thus assisting its tenants in business expansion and collaboration opportunities.

The hub will be officially opened by Premier Jay Weatherill on 1 October at 28 Dalgleish Street, Thebarton. The event is open to all and refreshments will be provided.
