Air Science Fume Box ductless enclosures are an effective solution to air filtration needs. Designed to protect the user from chemicals, vapours or powders during low-volume chemical manipulations, the product employs carbon filtration technology to offer a safe, high-performance alternative to conventional ducted fume hoods for a wide range of applications in varied industry settings.
The low-profile device is compact and completely portable, meaning there is no ductwork needed and no construction costs. It is easily positioned on shallow countertops or counters with overhanging wall cabinets. Available in three standard models, with vertical or horizontal airflow design, it is easy to install, with a modular design that permits multiple configurations.
The product effectively contains low concentrations of noxious fumes, vapours or powders, with electronic airflow monitoring designed to ensure continuous safety. Cabinet airflow and face velocity protect users from incidental exposures to fumes, while the clear viewing enclosure prevents chemical splash.
Air Science Enhanced Filtration Technology (EFT) has been developed for use with a wide range of 14 core chemical families using activated carbon particle formulations. An electronic gas sensor monitors performance and a secondary HEPA/ULPA filter may be added for biological safety.
The unit is energy efficient, as the filtered, conditioned (heated or cooled) air is returned to the room. Performance specifications and construction are said to meet or exceed OSHA, ANSI and relevant international standards. All models are available in polypropylene construction.
