Hylec Controls transportable on-site test labs

Hylec Controls offers transportable laboratories in modified containers, featuring test equipment such as metallographic polishers, environmental chambers, water recirculation tanks and hardness testers. The transportable laboratories are designed to perform faster and work more efficiently than traditional laboratories.

The customised laboratory provides secure, weatherproof, durable, storage containers that are suitable for a wide variety of applications in the aerospace, engineering, mining, construction, geotechnical and R&D industries. Hylec’s expert engineers manage the entire process — from design to construction and delivery — in an effort to meet industry standards and provide clients with the most suitable solutions.

The test labs are fully customised to provide strong, static, comfortable and safe work environments. The labs can include curing tanks for cylinders and beams, which are either mounted within the laboratory or in an adjacent separate container. The laboratories also come fully air-conditioned with temperature control.

Field analysis quality is claimed to be as good as or better than a fixed laboratory’s, with the company noting that the sample integrity of an hour-old sample is always better than that of a three-day-old sample — and if there is a sample problem, on-site analysis allows users to acquire another sample quickly. Furthermore, the ability to get real-time, on-site feedback means users are able to play with the constraints, get a good sample concentration and see what works best to refine the quality of the results.
