Autoclavable temperature probe

Monday, 06 April, 2009 | Supplied by: Thermal Component Technologies

Measurement Specialties has introduced a robust MEAS 400 Series autoclavable temperature probe for use in clinical environments. This probe allows steam autoclave sterilisation up to 134 °C for a maximum of 20 minutes.

The product uses a stable pressed ceramic (thermistor) sensing element and offers a moulded transition between a 3 m C-Flex cable and a 2-pin plug with moulded Santoprene housing, ensuring the reliability of the probe after the autoclave process.

The probes comply with FDA guidelines as well as 93/42/EEC CD Medical Device directive and EN 12470. Their range of operation is 0 to 60 °C. They are claimed to have an accuracy of ±0.2 °C from -1 to 60 °C and ±0.1 °C from 25 to 45 °C.
