Automated block digestion

Monday, 01 December, 2008 | Supplied by: ALPE Pty Ltd

The Vulcan 84 automated workstation combines sample digestion and sample work up. The system combines the advantages of block digestion with the automation capabilities of a computerised workstation.

Automatic and precise addition of reagents, monitoring of temperature and timed steps simplify the procedure.

The system is available in several configurations, from basic reagent delivery to automated digestion and work up. It features a fume removal system that collects fumes in the vicinity of the samples and transports them to an output duct.

The system controls temperature to ±1 °C. All fluid deliveries and pickups are via syringe pumps. The system sample level detector enables accurate topping up of samples after digestion.

Corrosive acids are handled with a 5 mL syringe with thumb screw, a teflon valve and a teflon loop.
