Nasopharyngeal flocked swabs and universal transport media

Previously, Nasopharyngeal Aspirates have been the sample collection method of choice when detecting respiratory viruses. This method of sampling can cause discomfort for the patient and requires specific equipment, making it less suitable for widespread use.

With the introduction of Copan’s Nasopharyngeal Flocked Swab and universal transport media, the patient will experience much less discomfort while still providing sufficient sample for testing respiratory viruses such as RSV, influenza, adenovirus and coronavirus.

The advanced nylon flocked swab technology allows for up to 90% of the sample to be released. The swab can be stored and transported at room temperature.
