TOPTICA ALS-IR series fibre lasers and amplifiers

Tuesday, 16 July, 2024 | Supplied by: Lastek Pty Ltd

TOPTICA’s ALS-IR series is a range of lasers and amplifiers based on innovative fibre technology, claimed to represent a breakthrough over solid-state technologies. It combines several stringent fibre laser specifications — including high power, single mode, single frequency and ultralow noise — to enable demanding applications.

The series has been designed to demonstrate ultralow-intensity noise compared to other laser technologies, with the company recommending its ANRS (Active Noise Reduction System) that allows an intensity noise reduction of >15 dB in the low frequencies. It also features high power up to 130 W at 1028–1070 nm.

The turnkey, maintenance-free, industrial-grade systems feature all-fibre architecture and no complex cooling systems, allowing for robustness and efficient integration in industrial or academic set-ups. Suitable applications include fundamental quantum technology; applied quantum technology; high-performance instrumentation based on interferometry, like gravitational wave detection systems; and high-brightness laser pumping.
