PS Biotech Feed Plate

The Feed Plate product range from PS Biotech offers a novel solution for fed-batch feeding of microorganisms such as fungi, yeast and bacterial cultures in microlitre scale. Small-scale cultivation in Feed Plate with slow nutrient release provides a selection of suitable microorganism strains for a successful bioprocess scale-up.

Nutrients such as glucose, fructose or maltose are included in each well of ready-to-use cultivation plates and are slowly released through diffusion from a special polymer matrix which is immobilised at the bottom of a plate. Diffusion commences on addition of the cultivation media to the well, so no additional enzymes or additives are required.

The product enables the generation of precise, process-near conclusions during high-throughput screening, resulting in an optimised scale-up process of bioproduction. Synchronisation of physiological conditions in screening and production leads to high-quality results and thus increases the efficiency within the scope of screening and bioproduction.

The plate is available in 24- and 96-well formats, with special formats available on request. Additionally, other carbon sources (eg, yeast extract) are possible, as well as non-carbon sources such as nitrogen or phosphate.
