Enzo Life Sciences anti-Müllerian hormone (human), (recombinant)
Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) is a member of the TGF-β family of genes and has been shown to be present in both males and females. AMH (human), (recombinant) is now available commercially from Enzo Life Sciences.
The hormone is known to be expressed in Sertoli cells and is involved in male sexual differentiation. It is present in the ovary of females and has been shown to be a marker of female fertility.
AMH has been found to inhibit primordial follicle assembly and decrease the initial primordial follicle pool size. Women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) exhibit elevated of levels the hormone and this has been found to desensitise ovarian follicles. It has also been shown to inhibit growth of cervical cancer cells via the MIS type II receptor.
