Enzo Life Sciences BioArray RNA labelling kits

Expression microarrays have enabled researchers to analyse the expression of hundreds of thousands of genes simultaneously in order to evaluate the global changes of a single perturbation. mRNA expression arrays were the first on the market - the mRNA to be hybridised to the array could be labelled directly or indirectly during reverse transcription using an oligo dT primer.

The Enzo Life Sciences BioArray Low Input RNA Amplification and Biotin Labeling System has improved the sensitivity of mRNA hybridising and labelling. The kit provides high performance for the amplification of small quantities of RNA for use in mRNA expression arrays.

Recently, the importance of microRNAs (miRNAs) in development and cell function has been realised. These small, non-coding RNAs with no polyA tail regulate gene expression, possibly by targeting mRNAs. Labelling miRNAs is not as straightforward as labelling mRNAs.

The BioArray Terminal Labeling Kit is designed to label cDNA copies of miRNA after purification of total RNA. cDNA copies of each miRNA are made using reverse transcriptase and a random hexamer primer. The cDNA copies are then labelled, using the kit, with biotin for microarray analysis.

The BioArray HighYield RNA Transcript Labeling Kit is used for the production of large amounts of high-quality, biotin-labelled aRNA transcripts for use in expression microarray analysis.
