Lonza 4D-Nucleofector X and Y units
Electroporation-based methods have so far required cells to be in suspension for transfection. The Nucleofector technology in Lonza’s 4D-Nucleofector X unit and Y unit allows direct Nucleofection of adherent cells, eg, neurons.
The 4D-Nucleofector X unit (or 96-well Shuttle add-on) uses specialised 16-well Nucleocuvette AD strips (20 µL) in which neural cells can be cultured for up to 14 days and transfected at any time during this period. Suitable for applications requiring low cell numbers analysed by fluorescence microscopy, absorption, fluorescence or luminescence assays.
4D-Nucleofector Y unit works with disposable conductive polymer dipping electrode arrays that can be inserted into standard 24-well culture plates during Nucleofection. Suitable for analysis by confocal microscopy or high cell numbers.
