Lonza QCL-1000 endpoint chromogenic LAL assay
The QCL-1000 endpoint chromogenic LAL assay is a claimed fast and quantitative endpoint assay for the detection of gram-negative bacterial endotoxin in a wide variety of samples.
The assay can be run in tubes or a 96-well microplate incubated at 37°C using a dry heat block.
Samples are mixed with the LAL reagent and a chromogenic substrate reagent and incubated for 16 minutes. The absorbance at 405-410 nm of the solutions in the tubes or microplate is then read. Endotoxin, if present, causes a yellow colour to form.
The assay has a sensitivity range of 0.1 to 1.0 EU/mL and the endotoxin concentration of unknown samples can be calculated by comparing to a standard curve.
