AdipoGen Life Sciences tag-free progranulin proteins

Saturday, 17 September, 2016 | Supplied by: Sapphire Bioscience

Progranulin (PGRN) is a widely expressed pluripotent growth factor, which plays a role in processes such as development, wound repair and inflammation by activating signalling cascades that control cell cycle progression and cell motility.

It is expressed in epithelial cells, immune cells, neurons and adipocytes. Recently, PGRN was recognised as an adipokine related to obesity and insulin resistance, revealing its metabolic function and inflammatory properties.

AdipoGen Life Sciences offers three types of untagged PGRN proteins for human, mouse and rat in vitro and in vivo studies. The product is said to result in higher activity compared to tagged progranulins, reflecting the native sequence with no additional amino acids. It is also affinity purified and contains low endotoxin levels (<0.1EU/μg).
