The Countess Automated Cell Counter offers easy and accurate cell counting and viability counts. It produces data on cell cultures in 30 s.

The system accurately counts live and dead cells and measures average cell size and percentage of viability. It uses only 10 µL of sample, includes dilution calculator and data archiving functions, and requires no set-up or cleaning.

The counter uses trypan blue staining combined with an image analysis algorithm to produce accurate cell and viability counts of live, dead and total cells. The measurement range extends from 1 x 104 to 1 x 107 cells/mL with an optimal range from 1 x 105 to 4 x 106 cells/mL.

A dilution calculator helps to determine how to prepare samples for the next passage or experiment.

The counter is easy to use. It uses disposable chamber slides, so there’s no set-up, cleaning or maintenance required.
