BioPlex 2200 anti-CCP assay test

Tuesday, 30 March, 2010 | Supplied by: Bio-Rad Laboratories

The BioPlex 2200 anti-CCP test, based on Axis-Shield’s anti-CCP technology, can be used for the early detection of rheumatoid arthritis. The assay measures anti-CCP (anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibodies), a novel marker that has been shown to have good specificity in the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis.

The measurement of these antibodies is claimed to have recently been cited as a key parameter in the definitive diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis by the American College of Rheumatology.

The BioPlex 2200 system is an automated, random-access multiplex testing platform with an assay menu targeting autoimmune diagnostics and infectious diseases. The anti-CCP kit is pending clearance by the US FDA.
