The Thermo Scientific Kingfisher Flex is a compact magnetic bead particle processing system for purification of DNA, RNA, proteins or cells. It can process 96 samples simultaneously and has a processing volume of 20 to 5000 µL.

The device provides flexibility and throughput with the incorporation of magnetic heads for both 96- and 24-well plates. The 24-magnet head enables the processing of samples from 200-5000 µL in 24-well deep well plates, while a 20-1000 µL volume range is available for 96-well plate processing.

The system offers automated magnetic particle processing for DNA/RNA, protein or cell purification. The larger combined volume range (20-5000 µL) makes it suitable for users requiring larger volumes of starting material, such as whole blood.

With an easy-to-use control panel, colour display and onboard memory, the system provides instant access to all settings and more than 100 protocols. It integrates smoothly with benchtop automation systems. An in-built heating block can heat samples from 4 °C above ambient to 96 °C, suitable for purifications requiring higher temperatures.

The system purifies samples in 10-40 mins per run, requiring a minimum amount of hands-on and preparation time. The BindIt PC interface software lets users set access control levels and offers clear reporting and protocol management.

The system is suitable for biotech, research and quality control laboratories looking to automate sample purification from single or multiple sources.
