Affymetrix has launched the next-generation Affymetrix Cytogenetics Research Solution which includes arrays, reagents and analysis software for fast and reliable discovery and detection of chromosome aberrations.

The Cytogenetics Whole-Genome 2.7M Array offers 2.7 million optimally spaced copy number markers, including 400,000 SNPs, known to be highly relevant for discovering and detecting chromosome aberrations. With both non-polymorphic and SNP content on a single, high-resolution array, users can detect very small structural changes to identify uniparental disomies, loss of heterozygosity and genetic regions identical-by-descent.

With a streamlined protocol, the Cytogenetics Assay enables users to progress quickly from extracted DNA to experimental results with no PCR and only three hours of hands-on time. Further, all steps from sample preparation to array are amenable to automation.

The Cytogenetics Chromosome Analysis Suite is designed specifically for cytogenetic researchers, giving users the exact functions needed within an easy-to-use graphical interface. This software offers unlimited customisable options for data visualisation and analysis, providing experimental flexibility from a single array.
