High-sensitivity DNA kit

The Agilent Technologies High Sensitivity DNA Kit, together with the 2100 Bioanalyser, is said to have become the industry standard for quality control of samples entering microarray and next-generation sequencing workflows.

With the advent of next-generation sequencing (NGS) platforms, sizing, quantification and quality assessment of fragmented DNA starting material, as well as DNA sequencing libraries, has become essential to achieve quality sequencing data. Recommended by NGS platform providers, the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyser is said to have become the industry standard for automated sizing and quantification of various sample types relevant for the next-generation sequencing sample preparation workflow. The Agilent High Sensitivity DNA Kit allows sizing and quantification of DNA samples in the single-digit pg/µL concentration range.

Features include:

  • Increased sensitivity for DNA fragment analysis - down to 5 pg/µL
  • Sizing, quantification and quality control of complex DNA samples - down to 100 pg/µL for fragmented DNA or DNA sequencing libraries
  • Broad linear dynamic range - enables the detection of less abundant products, eg, PCR artefacts and impurities
  • Easily define smear regions - by specifying size range of interest
  • Sizing accuracy - samples are normalized to two internal markers and an external ladder
  • Quantification accuracy and reproducibility - automated quantification of each DNA fragment against internal standards
  • Minimal sample consumption - only 1 μL of material required per analysis
  • Ready to use - standardised assays and pre-packaged reagent kits sufficient for 110 samples

Applications include:

  • Gene expression quantification
  • DNA quantification and QC for next-generation sequencing
  • Detection of genetically modified GMOs
  • Additional DNA sizing and quantification applications
