ID Labs IDTox Assay Kits

IDTox Assay Kits from ID Labs, available from United Bioresearch, are designed to monitor toxicity in mammalian serum samples.

The kits feature: increased sensitivity with low detection limits; colorimetric, end-point assay; highly reproducible results; requires 10 µL or less of serum; available in visible or UV formats.

The tests are claimed to be simple and user friendly and allow for the rapid, colorimetric assay of well-characterised functional markers for liver and heart directly from serum. The tests are suitable tools to monitor toxic effects caused by administration of siRNA, DNA plasmids, transfection agents or other therapeutic treatments in pre-clinical research studies.

The in-vitro assays can be used with samples from a wide range of mammals, including mice and rats, providing an effective tool to assess the toxicity of drug formulations and the methods used for drug delivery. The kits offer increased experimental continuity and decreased cost, as multiple time points can be taken from a single animal.

The kits include: alanine transaminase; aspartate transaminase; alkaline phosphatase; lactate dehydrogenase; bilrubin; and creatine kinase.

Aspartate transaminase and lactate dehydrogenase kits are also available, for use with supernatant samples.
