Lonza AdipoLyze Lipolysis Detection Assay

Friday, 22 July, 2011 | Supplied by: Capsugel Australia Pty Ltd

The AdipoLyze Lipolysis Detection Assay is a fast, sensitive, fluorescent in vitro assay that can be used for detecting small quantities of glycerol in cells undergoing lipolysis.

It can be used to quantitate in vitro lipolysis of adipogenic cell lines and both subcutaneous and visceral primary preadipocytes.

This assay is based on a specific cycling enzyme reaction that detects glycerol as a derivative of the breakdown of triglycerides into their two components - free fatty acids and glycerol.

A unique advantage of this assay is the ability to accurately detect very low levels (down to 0.44 M or 0.04 ng/L) of glycerol due to the specificity of the enzymes and the dynamic range of the recommended standard curve.

The assay is an addition to Lonza’s line of products for adipose metabolism research.
