The RBD 3000 is an automated, rapid microbial detection and enumeration system that is suitable for use by the food, pharmaceutical, environmental and personal care products industries. The test system can give users a total viable count in minutes instead of days, with sensitivity between 101 to 106 cfu/mL.

The microbial test system can be used for: direct hygiene swab total counts; direct monitoring of process waters and biomass levels; real-time disinfectant activity studies with the ability to distinguish between viable and membrane compromised (injured) cells; enumeration of the removal efficiency and potential capacity for microbial adsorption of loose adsorbents; yeast detection in fermented foods products in 24 h; preparation of standardised inoculums for efficacy studies; enumeration of culture collection suspensions; and presence/absence testing in commercially sterile products.
