TTP LabTech LCP liquid handler

Wednesday, 04 August, 2010 | Supplied by: Millennium Science Pty Ltd

TTP LabTech’s mosquito LCP liquid handler is a dedicated device that has been designed to facilitate the crystallisation of membrane proteins, such as G-protein coupled receptors, by offering a fully automated solution to lipid cubic phase (LCP) screening. It incorporates an auto-homing positive displacement syringe for the accurate and repeatable dispensing of LCP in addition to the standard disposable, positive displacement mosquito tips that are claimed to eliminate zero cross-contamination. This novel automation system enables LCP screening to be performed accurately and with ease and increases the throughput of crystallisation set-ups.

The mosquito LCP has been developed to overcome challenges such as liquid viscosity, the accurate dispensing of the LCP and the precise positioning of the drop.
