Nanosonics taps German distributor for Trophon EPR
Nanosonics (ASX:NAN) has signed a distribution agreement in Germany covering its ultrasound probe disinfection system Trophon EPR.
Medical disinfection and sterilisation equipment specialist Miele Professional has agreed to distribute the product in the market.
Miele launched Trophon EPR in Germany yesterday at the German Society of Hospital Hygiene Congress.
Nanosonics CEO Michael Kavanagh said the Miele partnership “provides a great opportunity to establish the Trophon EPR as the new standard of care for the high-level disinfection of ultrasound probes in the important German market”.
The primary methods of ultrasound probe disinfection in Germany remain wipes or immersion in chemicals including gluteraldehyde.
Nanosonics also currently has distribution deals in place with GE Healthcare covering the North American and UK markets and with Toshiba Medical in the UK. The latter deal was announced in April last year.
Nanosonics earned revenue of around $592,000 from Europe and the rest-of-the-world regions in FY14, up 242% year on year. Total sales revenue grew 119% to $9.68 million over the same period, and the company’s net loss fell 42% to $3.5 million.
Nanosonics (ASX:NAN) shares were trading 0.58% higher at $0.86 as of around 1.30 pm on Monday.
