ATP Innovations named incubator of the year
Sydney-based technology business incubator ATP Innovations has been named incubator of the year at the International Conference on Business Incubation.
The National Business Incubation Association (NBIA) has awarded ATP Innovations the 2014 Randall M Whaley Incubator of the Year Award, the top prize at the annual event.
The company also received the Dinah Adkins Technology Focus Incubator of the Year Award.
ATP Innovations CEO Hamish Hawthorn said the company has helped around 300 life science, software and hardware start-ups raise a combined $113 million in capital since 2006. The company’s current portfolio consists of around 65 companies.
ATP provides support across a range of areas, including negotiating technology licences, securing government support and financial assistance and accessing investors and advisors.
“In recent years we’ve undergone intense transformation to meet demand from Australia’s growing start-up ecosystem - launching and supporting accelerator programs in parallel with our core incubator services,” Hawthorn said.
Most recently, ATP helped Clarity Pharmaceuticals close its $1.1 million seed funding round and provided support for medical device company Elastagen.
