AusBiotech 2012: Program now available for industry event of the year
Tuesday, 04 September, 2012
The event, to be held in Melbourne – 30 October - 2 November 2012 – will feature expert speakers from overseas and Australia, who will speak on investment, public policy, industry experiences and business development.
For more than 25 years AusBiotech has been hosting its annual conference attracting delegates and speakers from around Australia and the globe. This year’s theme “Realising the Value” will showcase cutting-edge biotechnology development and offer numerous opportunities to share information and network with leaders across the industry spectrum.
Returning to Melbourne this year, AusBiotech is expecting 1,500 participants to attend the festival of events showcasing the latest Australian biotechnology and life science investment opportunities. The event will feature the popular Business Matching Program, which facilitated more than 2,300 partner meeting requests last year. The Business Matching Program will open in the coming days for meeting requests.
The AusBiotech 2012 conference will feature several important satellite events including the Australasian Life Science Investment Summit (ALSIS) – the biggest investment event of its kind in this part of the world – showcasing the latest Australian biotechnology and life science investment opportunities. Last year’s ALSIS attracted nearly 60 investors to travel from overseas and by the end of the day generated at least $228 million worth of deals in discussion.
The second AusFoodtech Symposium will be held, exploring the opportunities in functional foods and nutraceuticals. Industry professionals should also see BioPro Courses, with three top-class courses on offer, including global biotech business development ‘guru’, Jack Anthony, who will visit Australia to run a not-to-be-missed professional development course. A subsidy is available to selected Victorian organisations from the Victorian Government.
