AusBiotech WA Committee welcomes new additions
Thursday, 08 December, 2011
Mr Brian Leedman is the Vice President of Investor Relations at pSivida Corp (ASX: PVA, NASDAQ: PSDV), and has been named as the new Chair of the West Australian Branch Committee after Dr Wayne Best resigned recently after nearly two years in the voluntary role.
Brian Leedman has been on the Committee for the last six months and as the new Chair will seek to build on the strong platform that Wayne Best has left.
Dr Samantha South, Projects Manager of Commercialisation, Office of Industry and Innovation at the University of Western Australia, and Dr Joanne Boag, Trainee Patent Attorney with Griffith Hack have been appointed to the Committee.
The Western Australian Branch Committee has a strategic and advisory role. Committee members assist in identifying issues and provide advice on how to address industry issues.
Committee members, through the Chair, may provide advice to AusBiotech’s CEO, COO and Board of Directors on specific state-based industry matter.
Brian Leedman said: “I am very excited to be taking on this new role with our initial focus on raising the profile of the biotech sector in this State to the local mining-centric investment community.”
“Leveraging even a small percentage of investment in WA towards biotech will have a huge impact on the sector and create a knock-on effect with respect to media and government interest.
“I look forward to working with my co-Committee members towards achieving a greater level of awareness of the exciting investment opportunities the biotechnology industry represents.”
