Austrade to lead 'Australia-India Innovation in Life Sciences Roadshow'
Austrade, in partnership with Australian federal and state government agencies, is organising the first Australian ‘Innovation Week’ in India and invites interested Australian companies to participate. While the entire program will run over three weeks, the life sciences component will run for one week, commencing 25 November 2013.
An initiative from Austrade’s India team, Austrade is organising the high-level and focused ‘Australia-India Innovation in Life Sciences Roadshow’ with India’s leading life sciences, healthcare organisations and research institutions to promote Australia’s distinct expertise in medical research and innovation - particularly focused on neuroscience, oncology, stem cells and the biotechnology industry.
The program is designed to profile Australia as an attractive destination for Indian corporations to conduct research and development, and partner with Australian companies and institutions to commercialise technologies. The roadshow will provide an opportunity to meet with local companies, broaden market knowledge of the burgeoning Indian market and widen customer networks.
The roadshow is expected to generate trade and investment opportunities for Australian participants through presenting to Indian groups Australia’s research strengths, technologies and capabilities.
The roadshow will encompass workshops, research symposia, and roundtables with Indian corporates and institutions, to be held in the key cities of: Mumbai (25-26 November), Hyderabad (27-28 November) and Bangalore (29-30 November). Australian participants from research institutes and the biotech industry are invited to attend and present at the various activities and to showcase Australian life sciences capability in the areas of focus.
The Austrade India team is organising some group activities and will support coordination of one-on-one meetings with local organisations and any local media activities for those interested in doing so. While Austrade will make all of the necessary arrangements for the proposed activities on the ground in India, they are unable to meet any international or within-India travel costs, or accommodation costs.
