Biotech student to showcase research in AbbVie Student Poster Awards

The AusBiotech 2014 national conference will feature a student poster display in the main exhibition hall for the duration of the conference, and the national winner of the AbbVie Student Poster Awards.

Supported by AbbVie, the awards are for graduate students, who are invited to submit an abstract of their research via the online portal.

Abstracts will be reviewed by a panel and 20 abstracts will be chosen to be included in the poster display at the conference. Research areas may include, but are not limited to, biomedical engineering, biology, nanotechnology, bioimaging, bioinformatics, nutritional science and disease research.

Abstract submissions are now open and will close on Friday, 22 August 2014 at 5 pm EST. Finalists will be selected the week commencing Monday, 15 September 2014 and must be available to present their poster for the duration of the conference 29-31 October 2014.

Posters will be viewed by a panel during the lunch breaks at the conference and the national winner announced at the conference’s closing reception on Friday, 31 October 2014. The winner will receive the AbbVie Student Award as well as a full conference registration to an AusBiotech conference of their choice in the 2014-2015 financial year.
