Tuesday, 08 July, 2008
Brain Resource [ASX: BRC] has agreed to license its behavioural health technology to US company OptumHealth exclusively for the next three years.
OptumHealth and Brain Resource will collaborate to design a web-based assessment tool based on the technology which will be able to provide measurements for both general cognition and social cognition. Social cognition is used as a measure of how well patients' deal with their emotions.
The test will be designed for clinicians to use on their patients, and will be a 40 minute assessment based on well-known tests of functions such as memory, attention, mood and emotional resilience.
The results will be instantly compared with a database compiled by Brain Resource, and a set of decision rules giving treatment advice will be outputted to the clinician.
