Circadian appoints all-rounder to board

Australian biomedical research developer Circadian Technologies (ASX: CIR) has appointed an accountant with a diverse business background to its board.
In a statement to the market, the company said that James MacKenzie would join Circadian as a non-executive director. MacKenzie is currently chairman of the Victorian WorkCover Authority's board of management, as well as the Victorian Transport Accident Commission (TAC).
He is a director of listed property investment fund managers James Fielding Group, a member of the Victorian Premier's Business Roundtable and is on the advisory board of the Hawthorn Football Club.
Previous postings held by MacKenzie included Managing Director of Funds Management and Insurance at the ANZ Banking Group, Chief Executive Officer of Norwich Union Australia and CEO of the TAC.
He has also spent a decade working offshore, particularly in Asia and the United Kingdom with groups including European Pacific Trust and Banking Group and Global Trust Services for Standard Chartered Bank. MacKenzie was also a partner in the Melbourne and Hong Kong offices of an international accounting firm now part of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.
