CSL named most respected life science company
Biotechnology major CSL was last week named Australia’s most respected ‘chemical/life sciences’ company, appearing for the first time in the top 10 companies in the Australian Financial Review’s ‘Boss’ magazine annual study.
The research results, appearing in the November 2013 edition (pp 27-30), said CSL joined the list at number eight for the respect earned from its transformation from a government-run business into a “world player” and its ongoing rollout of products and services in a “highly competitive and potentially high-risk environment”.
Paul Meijer of the Hay Group, which conducted the survey, said in the article: “The entry of Samsung, CSL and Flight Centre to the [top 10] list for the first time is testimony to the respect earned by companies willing to take on the dominant market players through technology, innovation and expansion onto the global stage.”
Now in its fifth year, the study asked 272 CEOs, board members and senior executives to nominate their most respected organisations, based on 10 criteria.
CSL’s appearance on the list was with iconic companies such as Apple, Google, Wesfarmers, Qantas and BHP Billiton.
